This series is a family expansion. All 32 are part of my botanical art family in the making. More specifically: I made these as children of my large botanical abstract oil paintings. Looking closely you will be able to discover variants of shapes find in those four earlier paintings. And while their ‘parents’ are somewhat settled with their colours – like adults who have already figured themselves out (most of the time at least) – these children still have a lot to explore. Therefor their colours are brighter, less ton-sur-ton and a combination of light, dark, warm and cold. They have yet to find out what tones suit them and keep an open mind at what the world will throw at them.
