INSPIRATION FOR MY GLASGOW CANVASSES
In the spring of 2018 I visited the city of Glasgow during the 150 years Charles Rennie Mackintosh celebrations. We visited the Glasgow School of Art exhibitions and it was then that I got hooked on the architecture of the building. It was like a modern glacier glittering in the sunlight and slowly moving down a mountain (if you have ever been there you know steep the streets are!)
Back home I wanted to capture that pastel power into abstract compositions. I used the colours I saw in the buildings of the Glasgow University (image below) and all the pastel blues I could mix. The result is this series of three canvasses and six square canvas panels.
SPECS OF THESE GLASGOW CANVAS ORIGINALS
This series consist of three canvas originals sized 40 x 50 cm / 15.7 x 19.7 in and of six small square canvas panels sized 25 x 25 cm / 9.8 x 9.8 in. They can all be bought separately but in my opinion it would be perfect if the three canvasses stay together and colour up one wall. Same goes for the canvas panels.
If you’re interested in collecting the three or six as a series, please contact me so I can make you an appropriate offer.
