INSPIRATION FOR THESE SPRING BOTANICS
It was in the spring of 2018 I took a two week road trip through the Scottish Highlands with my future husband. He took me to all the beautiful gardens he knew from previous visits. Logan Botanic Garden, Glasgow Botanic Gardens, Applecross Walled Garden, Culzean Castle and Country Park. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. I took loads and loads of pictures and back home I had enough inspiration to paint for a whole year.
These five Spring Botanics are one of oil painting series that came out of that trip. The shapes inspired by all the marvelous plants I encountered in the Kibble Palace. The colours inspired by the magnificent blooming rhododendrons in the Glasgow Botanic Gardens. Spring energy at it’s best!

MORE BOLD BOTANIC INSPIRED ART
If you like this botanical theme, be sure to check out my Scottish Botanics series. Which I made after an autumn visit to the Scottish Highlands.
If you’re into these colours, you should also take a look at my Corals. During the heat wave in the summer of 2018 I painted bright, colourful deep sea corals to stay cool.
