INSPIRATION FOR MY UNDERWATER SERIES

Back in 2017 I visited the tropical greenhouses of the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh and was fascinated by the flowing shapes of all the water plants. Back home in spring 2018 I decided to turn them into colourful oil painting paper originals. Some of them are floating on the surface, others are waving underwater. And some are on the bottom of a lake or pond. Water plants for the win!

SPECS OF THESE PAPER ORIGINALS

This series consist of seven oil painting paper originals. They are all 297 x 420 mm /11.7 x 16.5 in. All paintings are unframed. But if you would like it framed, please contact me so we can discuss your preferences.

MORE BOLD BOTANICS:

If you’re into colourful botanic painting original you might also like my Scottish Botanics series, inspired by my autumn visit at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. And if you love spring, then take a look at my Spring Botanics series, inspired by my visit at Glasgow Botanic Garden in May 2018.

Want to get more water plants inspiration? Check out my Corals which I made to cool off during the never ending heat wave in the summer of 2018.

If you like these be sure to check out the black and white Underwater ink drawings I made before I started painting these. Maybe you can match them with these!
